Bob McDermott posted a condolence
All, as I read through some of the messages people wrote, I realized one more lesson my dad taught us over the last few years. He showed us how strong our mother really was. He showed us how a spouse who truly loves you through good times and bad. And last but not least, he showed me that you can be strong and proud, and at the same time accept the help you need to live the life you deserve. Thank you dad for what you taught us, and thank you mom for love and dedication you showed my dad (and all us kids). Love Your Buddy, Bob

McDermott Family:
Let your prayers do what words can’t… Soothe the heart when a loved one goes to Heaven. God hears us when we pray, he is always very near to give you strength; which is called His AMAZING GRACE. The Grace that comforts you now, tomorrow and each and everyday. May God continue blessing and keeping you and your family within His loving kindness and care. ~ Remember Dad is watching over the family too. Enjoy the sweet memories of Dad.

I am sorry that I never had the pleasure of meeting Mr. McDermott. My sister, Wendy, has introduced me to Bob and the McDermott family from 1,500 miles away. I love hearing the stories, sense of humor, and fun spirit your family has. I am so sorry for your loss, and can only hope to one day soon meet the rest of the McDermott family.
With much respect,
Adora and David Avalos

Dear family,
I am a friend and co-worker of Bob's from North Carolina and I lost my father this year also. I'll be praying for your family as this will be a difficult time. But you'll also receive many blessing as you remember and share your love for him and each other.
Bob, if you need to talk just call me as I'm going through this same thing. I'll be calling you soon. I can't describe what you'll go through because your experience will be different than mine. But memories are a wonderful thing. Take care and I'll be talking with you soon. Love, Kristy
