Obituary of Edward Lubamersky
Edward Francis Lubamersky, 94 years, of Laurel Springs, known as “Mr. Lu" to many, teacher and friend to all, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2023.
Predeceased by his parents August and Adela (née Ropiute) Lubamersky and his siblings Adele, Agnes, John, Adolf, Helen, and Alexander. He is survived by his nieces Lynn Lubamersky and Barbara Carroll, his great niece Samantha Jackson, and also by the Mai, Amadio, and Brownell families, who were like family to him.
Edward grew up in the Shenandoah, PA region. He graduated high school in 1946, and shortly thereafter, served his country in the US Air Force. During his service to his country, he was stationed in Greenland. He then went on to study at Penn State University, Northern Michigan University, and University of San Francisco, where he graduated there in 1957.
Edward was a retired schoolteacher who taught at Overbrook High School from 1958-1987. His passion in life was teaching and he kept in contact for many years with his former students.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Saturday, March 18, 2023 from 10:00AM to 11:00AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish St. Luke Church 55 Warwick Rd, Stratford NJ. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00AM. Interment will take place privately in Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery, Shenandoah PA.
