Mr. Lu,
It's just me, Ida Wegner (now Cotter)....one of your student fans from Class of 62. Am so glad you had a long life....and thanks for attending many of our '62 Reunions. You were one of my very favorite teachers throughout school years. Your personality was perfect for a teacher and we learned English well through you. I know God has blessed you.....and I look forward to seeing you again in our next lives. Fondly, Laura (the name I chose for more recent decades)

Mr. Lu. was a great teacher and person that his students were fortunate to know. He turned English classes into our favorites. I was one student, of one year, of all the students and years that he educated us at Overbrook Req. We thank you.

I met Ed when he was an usher at St. Lawrence Church along with my husband, Mike. He had a gentle nature, and invited us over several times to visit, and admire his lovely flower gardens. Every December, for several years, he and a friend would visit our Christmas display. Rest in peace, Ed.

I remember Mr. Lubamersky well, as my History teacher.
In October of 1962 during the Cuban Missile Crisis, Mr. Lu told us we all would have to get under our desks, as an emergency drill preparing us for a possible attack by the Soviet Union!
That we were living History at that moment!
Luckily, President Kennedy made the Soviets remove the missiles and defused the crisis.
Thank God or History would have been different!
He was a great teacher and person.
God Bless!

Mr. Lu was my favorite teacher in high school. Scott Graham and I, who are best friends, really admired Mr. Lu! Scott was prolly Mr. Lu's best friend out of the class of 79. They could really go back and forth w wit and wisdom w oneanother! Scott dressed casually year round n when Scott came to graduation in a suit, Mr. Lu turned to him w me standing nx to him, n said, "Oh my goodness Scott, you look like you're ready to be laid out!!!" Who knew Scott or Mr. Lu, they had beautiful 'kin' personalities, both w soft answers but biting sarcasm at the same time.
I am going to say my most memorable time each class was when Mr. Lu would take attendance; he would call everyone n then visually search the classroom, n say is Maneurver Presscott here, every class for 3 years... Mr Lu is enjoying heaven's great class, as he went on to "graduate" n spectate his pupils using what he taught us, how to appreciate life, thk u for that Mr Lu, u deserve to see us finishing the race u began. I will pray for the family ss they're prolly as beautiful as he was...

Mr. Lu was a true inspiration to the students he taught during his tenure at Overbrook. When I left to attend the Naval Academy, his words of encouragement never left me and always provided me with a guide to do the absolute best I could.

My sincere condolences to Mr. Lu's entire family. He was a terrific English teacher whose passion for helping his students learn was obvious to everyone who knew him. Mr. Lu had a genuine concern for the well-being of all of his students as well. His friendly personality, blended with his great sense of humor made him one of Overbrook's most popular educators.

To the family of Mr. Lu, he was my Senior High school teacher and because of his encouragement he convinced me to finish school when I was struggling and unhappy in school. Mr. Lu and I made an agreement that if on Senior Day in 1970's that if I song several songs by his favorite artist Dionne Warrick that guve me an "A" for the year grade. You know I sung every song for him on that day. This my favorite memory of him, that we built a loving and friendship for life between us. We kept in touch for years until I no longer knew how to get in touch with him after leaving Overbrook. I will truly miss him but will remember and carry him in my heart forever. To the family accept my condolences and prayers for God's strength in the days to come. Deborah Woodhouse

One of the very best teachers I had. I left for the Air Force 12 days after graduation. He once told me I will be proud of that choice. He had no idea what a wonderful life and marriage I was gifted because of that choice. Eternally grateful for his wisdom and care.

Q: What will you never forget about Edward?
A: The time he angrily/playing picked me up in my chair… which not only is hard to do, I was not tiny!!! Strong & Very Funny man! Also had the pleasure of seeing him again taking my terminal father to Santander Bank in Clementon on last time (my Dad passed a week later). It was nice to say hello with my father who no doubt wishes it was under better circumstance Jan 2014
