I met Muriel in 1991 at New York State Parole where we were partners until her retirement in 1997. After that, we remained close friends through the years. Muriel was always very proud of her sons and their achievements and was equally proud as her grandchildren grew into adulthood. Whether it was times she spent with her cousins, Renee and Toni or her sons and their families or other family and friends, Muriel had a way of making each of us feel special and so important to her. When I last spoke to her about a year ago, she was experiencing some medical concerns but so happy to be resting comfortably with her family in her new house. Muriel lived a wonderful life. Being born on the 4th of July, she told me how her father said the fireworks were for her. I know there were fireworks as she entered heaven last Monday. May she forever RIP.
