Obituary of Carmella Rita Lavala

Carmella Lavala (nee DiPietro) age 99, of Lindenwold, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, October 11, 2018 with her loving family at her bedside. Carmella loved cooking, watching TV, enjoying the outdoors, and listening to Frank Sinatra, but her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family. She was loved and adored by all. To know her was to love her. Carmella was the beloved wife of the late Louis Lavala. She was also predeceased by her mother and father, Madeline and Angelo DiPietro, brothers, Ralph and Frank DiPietro and sisters, Angelina Giovanetti and Frances Angelo.

Carmella leaves behind to cherish her memories, her devoted children, Frank (Mary Perez) Lavala, Sarah (Pat Yocolano) LaSalle, and Rosemarie Lavala. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Chuckie LaSalle, Bryan (Mary Wilson) LaSalle, Helen (Bob) LaSalle-Staines, Brenna (Bill)  Wesoly, Frankie (Rachel Wilus) Lavala, and five great-grandchildren, Brielle, Billy, Briar, Kiera and Lexus, who had the special privilege of being with her nanny every day. Carmela is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 from 9 AM -10:45 AM at our Lady of Guadalupe Parish Shrine at Saint Lawrence campus,  at 135 North White Horse Pike, Lindenwold, NJ 0802. Mass of Christian Burial to immediately follow at 11 AM. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care of Danks-Hinski Funeral Home, 125 N. White Horse Pike, Lindenwold, NJ 08021. In Lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made in Carmella’s memory to the family, C/O Helen LaSalle-Staines at 124 West Clearview Ave. Pinehill, NJ 08021
