Obituary of Abelardo Antonio Castillo

Abelardo Antonio Castillo (Chico), 66 years old, of Prairieville, LA, passed away on September 25th, 2018 in Voorhees, NJ.

Funeral service will be held at Danks-Hinski Funeral Home on September 29th at 9:00am. Visitation will be held at 125 North White Horse Pike, Lindenwold, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at 11:00 am on 135 N White Horse Pike, Lindenwold, NJ. Proper burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery, 2398 West Marlton Pike, Cherry Hill, NJ 08002 on Monday, October 1st at 10AM 

Abelardo A. Castillo was born in Barranquilla, Colombia, South America to Abelardo Castillo and Barbara Martinez . He joined the Navy as a sailor for the ARC Gloria Colombia vessel and later worked as a ship welder for Boilermakers National in New Orleans, LA.  Always the life of the party he enjoyed great music and great company especially with his beloved family. He was fascinated by all types of foods but mostly southern cajun jambalaya, gumbo and a good Colombian sancocho. 

Abelardo is survived by his father Abelardo Castillo Sr. , and by sister, Abella Castillo and also by his nieces, Barbara Castillo-Flores and Claudia Castillo-Lavergne.  He is preceded in death by his mother Barbara Martinez and sister Carmen Martinez.
