Obituary of Enid E. Parker
Enid E. Merren-Parker long-time resident of Lawnside, NJ died on September 11, 2018 at home. Enid is survived by her husband Louis F. Parker of 57 years. Her children Adrienne M Holmes (Ricky), Craig A. Parker (Michelle) and Scott G. Parker, 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Sisters Nancy Martinez and Celia Cennett (Lawrence) and uncle Roosevelt Merren (Shirley). (Additional family members too numerous to mention and many, many special friends.
Enid is predeceased by her mother Sara Merren, her grandfather Eugene Merren, her grandmother Christline Price Merren, her brother Julien Martinez, sisters Sonia C. Wilson and Sylvia S. Link.
Enid was born in LaCeiba, Honduras, CA on June 2, 1940, moved to New Orleans at the young age of 14, attend St. Mary’s Academy . Met Louis in March of 1961 and on November 4, 1961 they were married and went on to live in Everett, WA, New Orleans, LA, McGuire AFB, NJ, Syracuse, NY, Bordentown, Willingboro, Marlton and finally Lawnside,NJ in 1988.
Enid enjoyed entertaining, cooking and especially baking. Loved Louis, studying/reading the Bible, family, food and friends.
Enid’s favorite saying “I may not be one of the best Jehovah’s servants but certainly not the worst”, favorite song was “At Last by Etta James which was her and Louis’ wedding song.
She became a baptized Jehovah Witness in 1974, her love for her heavenly father Jehovah always strong in her heart, willing to defend her beliefs to all that would listen.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 22, at the Danks-Hinski Funeral Home, 125 North White Horse Pike, Laurel Springs, NJ 08021.
Funeral Reception to take place at 3:30 p.m. at Borough of Magnolia American Legion, 370 Warwick Road, Magnolia, NJ 08049.
