John J Sweeney Sr, on October 6, 2016 of Gibbsboro, N.J age 93. Loving husband of the late Mary (nee O’Toole), devoted father of the late Frank Sweeney , Jack Sweeney and his wife Denise, Eileen Finnigan and her late husband Jay, Barbara Marmarou and her late husband Gregory, Joyce Flannery and her husband Kevin and Kevin Sweeney and his wife Charmaine. Proud grandfather of thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Mr. Sweeney served in WWII in the US Marine Corp., he worked at General Electric for 33 years, he was also a member of the American Legion. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a viewing on Tuesday from 9:30 to 11:00 am at St. Andrews RC Church in Gibbsboro. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am. Interment will be at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Berlin. The funeral is under the direction of Danks-Hinski Funeral Home, Lindenwold. Donations in his honor may be made to the American cancer society, www.cancer.org Condolences may be offered at www.dankshinskifuneralhome.com.
