Obituary of Raymond S. Saulino

Raymond “Ray” S. Saulino of Laurel Springs, passed away on February 15, 2016 age 93. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Ruth (nee Kiner). He was the beloved father of Ruth M. and Donnamarie.
Born in South Philadelphia, Ray was a member of “the greatest generation.” He joined the Marine Corp. after graduating from High School. He served as a Corporal during World War II in the South Pacific. After receiving an honorable discharged Ray attended the Philadelphia Academy of the Fine Arts. He continued to study anatomy and painting in Italy.
As a self-taught design engineer, Ray worked at both General Electric and Campbell’s Soup Company. He retired at the age of 70.
Ray was a true renaissance man who was proud of his Italian heritage. He was a lifelong student of Roman history, art and classical music. Ray was also a dedicated athlete who routinely bicycled with the Philadelphia Bike Club. He participated in 40 mile rides into his 80s.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Saturday February 20, 2016 at 11:00am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, St. Lawrence Campus. The family will receive friends prior to Mass beginning at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Funeral under the direction of Danks – Hinski Funeral Home of Lindenwold Condolences may be offered at dankshinskifuneralhome.com.
