Elaine Dutton, 89 of New Smyrna Beach, FL., and a longtime resident of Voorhees, NJ passed away peacefully at home. The daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Woods) Hildenbrand, she was predeceased by her husband Frank M. Dutton who died in 2007 after 63 years of marriage and their daughter Barbara Lynn Dutton who died in 1979. Elaine is also pre-deceased by her brothers Charles Hildenbrand and Ronald Hildenbrand. She is survived by her sister Joan Bell. Elaine will be forever remembered by her loving children Frank Dutton (Bonnie), Cheryl Doughty (James), Jim Dutton, and Karen Ferguson (Robert). She will also be sadly missed by her 16 Grand Children and 14 Great Grand Children along with many nieces and nephews. After graduating from Collingswood High School in 1943, Elaine married Frank Dutton after his return from the war in the Pacific. They raised 5 children in Voorhees, NJ and she was very involved in several civic organizations and was blessed to have many wonderful friends. Elaine served as a dispatcher for the Voorhees Police department until her retirement and move to New Smyrna Beach, Florida where she continued her involvement with several community organizations including holding executive offices of Post 17 of the American Legion and Charter membership of the Edgewater, FL Eagles association. After the passing of her loving husband Frank, Elaine looked forward to her Friday night “Date Nights” with her son “Jim-Bob”, which usually involved an evening of laughs, drinking her “Happy’s” and enjoying the friendship of her fellow Legionnaires. She looked forward to her Sunday afternoon bingo games and was known to make an occasional wager on her favorite NASCAR drivers and NFL teams.
