Genevieve M. Perno Age 93 Atco, NJ Genevieve passed away peacefully on December 6, 2014, after a brief illness, surrounded by family and friends. She was born Jennie Marie Perno on July 22, 1921 in Atco, NJ where she was a long time resident. She was predeceased by her mother Lauretta Perno, father Augustine Perno, brothers Anthony, Joseph, and Alfred; and is survived by her brother Raymond, niece Loretta Curci (husband Joseph), nephew Joseph Perno (wife Roseanne), niece Loretta Wagner (William Roach), niece Maria Goldie (husband George), niece Donna More’ (husband Michael), niece Michelle Fareri (Thomas Lillie), great nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends. Stricken with polio at the age of three, Genevieve was a survivor and led a remarkable life. Braces and crutches did not stop her determination. She graduated from Overbrook High school, obtained her drivers license, and held several jobs. She was an inspiration to those around her, overcoming adversity to become a role model for so many people. Genevieve was an excellent cook, baker, and seamstress. She was an avid baseball fan and loved to play pokeno. Genevieve will be sadly missed and forever in our hearts. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a viewing on Thursday between 9:00 and 10:00 AM at the Danks-Hinski Funeral Home, 125 N. White Horse Pike at South Ave., Lindenwold, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM at Christ the Redeemer Church in Atco. Interment will be at Berlin Cemetery.
