Spring 1978 there was a horrific car accident at Laurel Rd & Atlantic Ave at the tracks where a speeding police car crashed into a car crossing Laurel Rd killing Jimmy Ackert, wounding Steven Jaggard (driver), seriously injuring back seat passenger Johnny Krowicki, all best friends from Laurel Springs
When Johnny's twin brother, Michael ( Laurel Springs EMT) called, we rushed to the scene. Their car was hit so hard it was up-ended. They removed the driver and side passenger not realizing anyone was left inside. Son Michael screamed "MY BROTHER IS IN THE BACK SEAT". Johnny was enveloped - invisible to the firemen. Johnny called out" MIKE" and FRAN "fearlessly" climbed on top of the car, RISKING HIS OWN LIFE, spraying foam on the car so they could use Jaws of Life to rescue Johnny.FRAN WAS ON TOP OF THE CAR THAT COULD HAVE EXPLODED ANY SECOND. Without FRAN and the STRATFORD FIRE CO Johnny would not have survived. Rest in peace. You are God's good and faithful servant. LOVE
