I will not forget the jokes, the laughter, the discussions of events, sports, politics and I will not forget the stories- some told in confidence (jumping off the ship to go swimming naked as the day you were born such scandal!). Most of all, I will not forget the care and purpose with which you tried to shape the world around you; it was just the way a carpenter shapes a piece of wood.
I miss you. I love you.

“I pass death with the dying and birth with the new washed babe and am not contained between my hat and boots. And peruse manifold objects, no two alike and each one good, the earth good, the stars good, and their adjuncts all good.”
–Walt Whitman
Such public forums are a great way to reflect on the memory of someone who has touched our lives and I get the honor of sharing my thoughts on someone so remarkable I was able to call him grandpa. Put simply I will not forget. I will not forget the way you used to say “Whaddya say there Jim?” I will not forget the way in which you greeted everyone like this and made it genuine and unique each time- it was a greeting with the right tone playful and personal.

Grandpop, we shared so much during these final months. Baseball games, family pictures that we went through and discussed...we let you talk and talk you did! Black cherry ice cream is good but let's add some coffee ice cream too! I learned how to make a poached egg just by listening to your directions-thank you. To your caretakers-endless thank you!! Glennys-YOU are family and my family love's you! Grandpop did too!! Grandpop- thank you for always listening as well as sharing, for accepting and not judging, you are right-there is no room for hate in this house. I will always remember you with honor, love, and smiles. Michele

Thank you Grandpop for always having your door open so I could come in and share things such as your candy bar, tomato talk, countless pictures of the past, walks down memory lane, and crazy baseball trivia as the Phillies attempted to entertain us so many times. I will miss you terribly but do not consider this a loss, as I have gained so much by sharing these moments with you.
Love,
Christy
