My sincere condolences to the Maguire family, for the loss of Mr. Maguire.
I too, have fond memories as a child, being around the Maguire home.
Ironically, today I found myself driving along side the Funeral Procession, for Mr Maguire, as it headed to the Cemetery.
In this life, Mr. Maguire mattered...and he was loved.

Mrs. Maguire and Family,
I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. Maguire. I know his passing leaves an empty spot in your heart that hurts so much.
When I think about the great memories of my childhood, you and Mr. Maguire are remembered with fondness and love. You were always so kind to me, even when I didn't deserve it.
I know this is a great day in heaven, when a hard worker for our Lord Jesus has come home from his labor. I know the trumpets are blowing to announce the arrival of our Brother Jack.
I am so sorry that I did not hear the news in time to be there with you.
God Bless You. We will keep you and the family in our prayers.
Love,
Michael and Brenda

John F. Maguire will always be Uncle Jack to me. Growing up, we all have a few men who are the image of what a good man should be. Uncle Jack was one of mine. I remember the family parties at his house as among the great times of my youth: hordes of kids, relatives all around, more food than we could eat (although we sure tried), and running, jumping off roofs, and carrying on with my cousins. Summers at Wildwood were also great. As I got older and more aware, my respect only grew. Family, work, and religion were his highest values, and he lived them with sincere modesty without any trace of ostentation. I was an adult before I knew that he had served with quiet heroism in the war "just doing his duty". As someone who now teaches at a small liberal arts college, I often need examples for students of the truly good men I have known; Uncle Jack and several other relatives are my favorite examples of the kind of lives we should all aspire to live. As we said when I grew up in South Jersey, "He was the kind of guy you'd like to dig a ditch or share a foxhole with." He also made me perhaps the only professor at my school who's been heard to say, "What the ham?" when he gets excited. Please accept my deepest condolences and good wishes and my congratulations for having known and helped one of the greatest guys I ever knew. Jim "Cousin Jimmy" Roney

Dear Maguire Family,
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your dad. Your parents were a big part of my life when I was young and have nothing but wonderful memories of your entire family. My mom loved them very much as well. With deepest sympathy, Maureen Brady.
