John has been my friend since we met through Marty Abramson in the early 1970's. We often ran into each other in court, and we kept up with each other's families on a fairly regular basis. He always had a great sense of humor, and an interesting book. I will greatly miss him. I am sure that he and Marty are up there discussing history right now.
