Obituary of Patricia A Davis

Please share a memory of Patricia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Patricia Ann Davis (née Donahue) passed away at Laurel Manor, Stratford NJ, on May 19, 2022 at the age of 94 after a long and well-lived life. Prior to residing at the nursing facility, she lived in Kirkwood, NJ, for several years with family. She was born in Philadelphia PA, on May 4, 1928 and is predeceased by her dear husband, Arthur M. Davis, Jr.

Pat was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, friend and colleague. Everyone who knew Pat loved spending time with her. As a mother, she had the unique gift of making each of her children feel cared for and special. She sent cards to family and friends up until her passing and stayed in touch with former neighbors whenever possible. Stunningly beautiful, inside and out, she reflected that beauty out into the world and shared her generous spirit with whomever she met.

Pat graduated from Hallahan Catholic Girls’ High School in Philadelphia, June 1946. A student who excelled at academics, she was proud that she also played French horn in the school band and orchestra.  She met Art Davis at Arthur Murray Dance Studio in 1947. They married in 1949. After living a few years in Upper Darby, PA, Pat and Art moved to Kirkwood (Voorhees), New Jersey in 1956. While raising her six children, Pat also worked at the Kirkwood and then Voorhees post offices where townspeople and customers enjoyed her excellent service, undivided attention, and kindness. She had been a parishioner at Our Lady of Grace Church in Somerdale for many years prior to her retirement, and held a strong, abiding love for her Catholic faith.

Pat and Art retired to Little Marsh PA in 1991, where they had a small home on 10 acres of land. She and Art enjoyed their peaceable days in Little Marsh caring for nature, church, friends and their small community.   Pat also crocheted baby blankets for mothers and babies in the wider community. She loved feeding the birds and tending to her small garden. She was an avid reader and cryptogram puzzle expert and remained engaged with the world into her later years.

Her children, Eileen (Charles) Brunetto, Patricia (Joe) Giacoboni, Susan (Mark) Spitzner, Raymond (Karen) Davis, Tom (Donna) Davis, Don (Denise) Davis, as well as grandchildren, Amy, Jim, Julia, Kevin, Grace, and Lilly, who called her “Gma” for short, great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Tucker, and special nieces and nephews, will all miss her deeply.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 from 10:00AM to 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish St. Luke Church, 55 Warwick Road, Stratford NJ 08084.
