Obituary of Ronald Creighton Hartz

Ronald (Ron) Creighton Hartz, age 87 years of Stratford NJ, passed peacefully on January 27, 2022 and was reunited with his beloved wife, Alma who entered into eternal rest just six days before.

 

Born in Duluth, Minnesota, Ron grew up in various parts of the country due to his father’s career as an ironworker. After attending 29 different schools, he landed senior year at Neshaminy High school where he met the love of his life and best friend, Alma.

 

A U.S. Army Veteran, Ron worked most of his career as a radiation health and safety expert at Rutgers University in New Brunswick.  Ron was a man of many unique passions including wood carving, knife collecting, cowboy boots, and belt buckles. Ron will lovingly be remembered most for his gentle soul, kind heart and unconditional love he showered on those fortunate enough to call him family.

 

Ron was predeceased by his wife Alma; his parents, Arnold and Bernice Hartz; his brother, Robert Hartz his son, Rick Hartz and Baby Donna Hartz.  Ron will forever be held in the hearts of his children, Ron (Mary) Hartz, Karin (Mark) Lail; his grandchildren, Deidre (Cody), Kristina, Ronnie, Christopher, and Jessica; and his great grandchildren, Alex, Sierra, and CJ. 

Inseparable even in death, a joint service will be held for both Ron and Alma followed by internment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.  As per the couple’s request, the services will take place privately. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions in Ron’s memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.  Arrangements are being made under the direction of the DANKS-HINSKI FUNERAL HOME, LINDENWOLD NJ.
