Obituary of Karen Jude Hopkins
Karen Jude Hopkins, 59, passed away peacefully at her life-long home on January 2, 2022. Karen was born November 29, 1962, the youngest of three brothers and three sisters of her beloved parents, Mary and John Hopkins, both who predeceased her.
While Karen faced many limitations in her life, the love she showed for her family and the love lavished upon her in return, especially by her parents, was limitless. She was a constant reminder to all who knew her of the purity of love. She made all of us better people by teaching us the importance of empathy and reinforcing in us the belief that all lives have meaning, that love is truly unconditional and that real joy can be found in the simple pleasures of swinging on a swing, listening to the radio, taking a ride in the car to get ice cream and just being with your family. Even though Karen faced her fair share of adversity, her own fighting spirit and the love and devotion of her parents and brothers and sisters kept her going long after many would have given up on her.
Karen is survived by her siblings Pat and Ed McCarthy, John and Valerie Hopkins, Mary and Don Jacobs, Mike and Nancy Hopkins, Mark and Patty Hopkins, and her devoted caregiver for the last three years, her sister Denise Hopkins. In addition, she is survived by 14 nieces and nephews as well as 12 great-nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Marta DeJesus, Karen's longtime Home Health Aide and friend.
Services for Karen will take place privately. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, 135 N. White Horse Pike, Lindenwold, NJ 08021 would be appreciated.
