Claire Mariette Falls, (née Taylor) passed away peacefully Monday, April 5, 2021. Born in San Pedro, CA, Claire was a longtime resident of Stratford, NJ. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Michael Andrew Fritz, her husband, Joseph A. Falls, and her parents, Mary Agnes McGeady Taylor and LCDR Clarence Mariet Taylor.

Claire began her career as a business owner, opening and operating Claire’s Beauty Salon as a young woman.   She then went on to work for the Camden County Probation Department and after raising her son, she entered Glassboro State College and received her Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice in 1987.  Claire was employed by the County of Camden for 18 years and retired as a Senior Probation Officer. She was a founding member of the Camden County Retired Employees Association and a congregant of the Church of the Atonement, Laurel Springs. Claire was a beloved member of her community, and a devoted wife, mother and grandmother to Megan.  She cherished her fond childhood memories, especially those of travelling with her family during her father’s time in the US Navy and she took tremendous pride in her father’s heroism in the March of Bataan. She enjoyed golfing with her husband, Joe, and made many friends and memories at the Riverton Country Club.  They especially loved to travel to Florida, often going to Clearwater to watch the Phillies Spring Training.  One of her favorite trips was accompanying her granddaughter, Megan, on her first trip to Disney World in 1995.  Claire met each day with optimism and positivity and loved to laugh.

Claire is the beloved grandmother of Megan Michele Lipnitz (Daniel) and dear mother-in-law of Carol Anne Fritz.  She is survived by her beloved sister, Maryellen Garris (the late Charles Garris).  She is predeceased by Joan Mathieson (John), Allen Taylor (Mary), Carole Milner (Robert), Charles Taylor (Mary Theresa) and William Taylor (Pauline).  She is also the beloved “Aunt Sissy” to her many nieces and nephews from whom she derived great joy.

Claire’s memorial service and interment will be announced at a later date and will be held jointly with her beloved husband Joseph A. Falls. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Brain Tumor Association, at www.ABTA.org.  Arrangements under the direction of DANKS-HINSKI FUNERAL HOME, LINDENWOLD NJ.
