I worked with Charlie at Sunoco and met Edith through him. Charlie was a fellow auditor at Sunoco and from my recollection, a fellow graduate of LaSalle University in Philly. Lived near the Havilands in NJ and enjoyed times with them socially in NJ. They were very fine, loving people and we were blessed to know them. My prayer is that they have been rejoined in their heavenly home for Eternity with Our Lord and Savior. Jim & Kathleen Szczur, Murrells Inlet, SC

To all the Havilands, I want to express my sad condolences. Your mom was a very important figure in my childhood and upbringing. Whether it was bringing us to the Clementon movie theater for the twenty-five cent matinee of the the latest Disney movie, or the countless times she brought Doug and I to our games or other places, she was always generously involved with the neighborhood kids and willing to help enrich our lives. I think I learned as a very little boy to spend my days hanging around the Haviland house, because inevitably, at some time during the day there would be some scrumptious treats coming out from Mrs. Havilands magic oven. Her cookies were always better than my mothers, and that molasses candy was unforgettable. Whenever I hear the phrase “it takes a village to raise a child”, I can’t help thinking that the Havilands were my village. I am eternally grateful to have had Mrs. Haviland in my life. Rest in peace Edith.

I grew up with Mr./Mrs. Haviland's children since we lived in a bungalow near Edith's
parents during the summers.
Mrs. Haviland was a sweet lady and it was a fun time growing up in the 50's. My
brother, sisters and I have wonderful memories of our childhood thanks to her
family.
Now, she will see John, our brother.
God bless her!
Love

Growing up across the street from the Havilands I spent a lot of days, nights, holidays and birthdays at their house. They truly were like a second family to me growing up. When Kelly called me the other night to deliver the bad news of his mother's passing, I was deeply saddened. I will never forget how welcome she always made me feel when visiting their home. I'll always remember the the summer vacations I spent with them in Wildwood and I'll certainly never forget the chocolate chip cookies she would always drop off for me. While I wish I could pay my respects in person, I would like her family to know I am thinking of you and praying for you during this time. May she rest in peace.
