What to say? I am just really sad. Uncle Jackie was an important presence in my life, and I am blessed to have known him. There are so many memories – the Korn picnics at Turnwald and Glenwood, the Korn Open bowling and golf tournaments, graduations, weddings, retirements, random parties, you name it – and Uncle Jackie was here with us in Erie, along with his crew of four kids and Aunt Ronnie, after an eight-hour trip in a hot and crowded car. My mother often mentioned her appreciation of (and admiration for) the efforts that Uncle Jack took to keep his family connected to their relatives in Erie. We managed to return the favor only once, but it was a doozy – the 1978 (approx.) caravan of Korn Cars, aunts, uncles, and kids – all headed to Laurel Springs and outfitted with citizens’ band radios, courtesy of Uncle Ronny. From that visit, the main thing I remember was Uncle Jackie’s delight that his Korn kin had finally come to visit in his neck of the woods; he wore a huge grin for the entire visit. I will miss Uncle Jack very much!
Love, Bette Jo

Aunt Janet & I want to express our deepest sympathies to the Korn & Sparhawk families for your loss of Dad & “PopKorn”.
Dad & Mom are together & forever united, not only with each other, but also with their loving daughter & your loving sister & loving aunt “Lil Ronnie”. Even though we will have our moments of sadness & tears, let us remember & be thankful for all memories we have shared together.
Love, Aunt Janet & Uncle Mike

My buddy you left way too soon and I will miss you dearly. We had some great times together at work, parties, fishing. Reminiscing about our days in the military, your days growing up in Erie and mine in South Philly. We fished it hard and drank a little playing poker or just sitting around the chat barrel. You taught us a whole new language and all about camaraderie to the non combatants. You were more like a big brother and always looked out for me. I salute you sailor and may you have fair winds and following seas. Rest In Peace my brother
