John and I send our deepest condolences to the entire McKelvey family. Your mom was a beautiful woman with an infectious smile. She loved being around people and sharing stories about her family and dear friends. Her passing will leave a void in all our lives.

I'm very sorry for your loss. From her fine family, she clearly was a wonderful mother with a giving heart who led by example. Look at that smile and that welcoming face! God Bless at this time of transition and forevermore.

Mom had a fabulous smile and a sense of innocence and kindness for everyone. These attributes helped her make fast friends. That smile of hers and her sense of adventure took her and my Dad to so many places throughout the United States. She had so much fun regardless of the destination or how many children were in tow. She wasn’t someone who needed the newest or the best of anything. She was eternally grateful for everything she had. Mom loved her life!
How incredibly strong was she? I’m not sure I know anyone stronger. Mom never complained and, because of this, we nicknamed her “the iron horse”. She never gave up and put her entire being into raising her family with fierce love, pride, acceptance, and understanding. I’m not sure she ever slept when I was a child…. of course, I gave her good reason not to. I often said I was Mom’s favorite and that I was misunderstood, but Mom understood me just fine. Family was EVERYTHING. Anyone who knows my mother, knows about the wall of frames. She has instilled the importance of family in all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Mom, now you’ve laid down your burdens in this life, but your achievements still shine on. You will live on through the family you and Dad created. We have learned from your great love and will continue to share memories between us. You now have the opportunity to rest and see your maker’s face. I hope that you’ve entered heaven’s gates and feel God’s saving grace. Until we meet again.
With love,
Robert (and Julie)

Our sympathy and thoughts and prayers are with the extended McKelvey family at this sad time. I first got to know Cass on May 1976 when she organized a family trip from the United States back to Ireland. It was a special trip for her mother, my Aunt Kate who was coming home to Ireland for the first time in 64 years at 87 years of age. I am not surprised Cass was known as the “Mayor” as she had tremendous energy and enthusiasm for life. May her kind soul be at rest. Our faith at this Easter times leads us to believe in the Resurection and that she is at rest with her McGowan and Dougherty ancestors from County Donegal and County Tyrone. Cass was blessed in life with a wonderful family and I am so pleased to have got to know them despite being separated by the Atlantic Ocean. These are my thoughts. Much love to all my cousins in this time of sadness.

Mom loved her Irish - American heritage. Mom had another Nickname: “ The Mayor” of the Woodbury Mews. She love her stay there since 2012. There were times we had to call an make an appointment to see her, because of her busy schedule. She loved her Rosary sessions, cooking and arts and crafts, and her weekly day trips. She became the spokes person for the company. She often spoke to groups of perspective residents, about life at the Woodbury Mews.
I am sure Mom is happy to know there are no BUDGET’s or check books in Heaven ! Also unlimited cakes, candy and chocolates!
We will miss you Mom, so very much.
Love
Margaret Mary
