Sheets. You were a musical genius...full of incredible talent. I still listen to your beautiful songs recorded at your studio Atlantic City Recordings. You were an amazing talent and every session that I did with you, or there, was one that holds up in time. Your sense of harmonics and sound was impeccable. How you managed to get through life without fame and fortune still astounds me. No matter, you were a star in life and now you are in the shining stars. Blessings to you. I did this portrait of you many years ago. You enriched my life. —Sherrie Hill-Rosche`

Hal,
I just found out about your passing. I’m so sorry. My deepest condolences to your family. We were family through your marriage to Donna so it’s been many years since I’ve seen you. I hope you stayed happy because that is always the way I remember you. You loved your family, your music, and making people laugh and feel good. You did it with ease and with all your heart. All of our family gatherings with your banjo and your songs made everyone smile and just instantly feel better. One of my favorite memories of you is when you’d get down on your hands and knees and dig in the kitchen cabinet with the pots and pans and make them all clatter around, pulling them out and tossing them on the floor to crash around so you could find the tiniest little baby pot. All the clatter and crashing was just a magnificent exaggerated show to make my kids (and me!!) laugh in hysterics. And then when you’d “find” it, you’d calmly say, “Oh, here it is” after there were pots and pans strewn all over the floor! I can still see it all play out in my mind. That was you. You’d do anything to make people laugh and feel good. Your heart was good. Your soul was light and happy. I will miss that. Know that you were loved and appreciated for who you were.
With deepest sympathy,
Diane Severino

Hal, I'm glade to have met you at Lindenwold Towers. Over these past few years, while caring for my mother. We've connected and became friends. I was able to help you and get you to your doctor's and do your shopping and etc. But, more importantly. We just chatted and talked about life and our experiences. I'm glad to have met you and you'll be missed by many there. Rest easy my friend.
